Situated within a secure wildlife reserve Lake Rotokare is known as the rippling lake. Rotokare Scenic Reserve is a pristine natural area with a lake, it is also a sanctuary for a great number of rare and endangered species. We welcome freedom campers here – self-contained and non-self-contained. There are toilets and hard parking. Vehicles MUST be checked for pests (mice, rats, cats etc) before entering the reserve through a set of double gates, absolutely no pets allowed.
